Dr. Regina Antwi
Dr. Regina Antwi is a licensed doctor of optometry with experience in clinical eye care, diagnosis and management of eye diseases, refraction, corrective lens prescription, patient education, and community eye health outreach. She currently serves as the optometrist-in-charge at Permeff Eye Care, Oyarifa Branch, overseeing both clinical and administrative functions.
Professional Qualifications and Training
Dr. Antwi holds a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Cape Coast. Her academic training covered ocular anatomy and physiology, dispensing optics, binocular vision anomalies, ocular pathology, ocular manifestations of systemic diseases, ocular pharmacology, and physiological optics. She has also undertaken postgraduate training in health entrepreneurship at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Career Experience and Institutional Role
She gained extensive clinical experience through an internship in the Eye Department at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and a clinical attachment at the Ejisu Government Hospital. She also served as optometrist in charge at Rash Bill Eye Clinic, where she conducted eye examinations; diagnosed glaucoma and visual abnormalities; prescribed and fitted eyeglasses and contact lenses; developed patient management plans; referred complex cases; and organized outreach services for glaucoma, refractive errors, and other eye diseases.
